Mrs. Leak’s Weekly Newsletter
Volume 3 Week 21 February 03, 2012
We had a great time during Catholic Schools Week. The Homespun Dance group came in on Wednesday and we had a blast dancing to their wonderful music. On Thursday, we had Mrs. Howe visit with the Starlab.
We learned about star names and meanings as well as the phases of the moon. We
have also collected a wonderful amount of non-perishable food items for the St. Clement’s and EOC food pantries. Finally, a great big thank you to all those that brought in sheets and blankets to
participate in our Pajama Day. Our families are always so supportive of our school. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
A great big thank you also goes out to the fifth grade boys that were manning
the coat check at the Father/Daughter Dance last Saturday evening. They raised
$150.00 toward our trip.
Please continue to work with your child on studying. They are always given at least a week’s notice and they should be studying every night. There is too much information for them to go over in just one evening.
Thank you for your understanding.
Please note the next long term assignment is the February book report that
is to be completed using the sandwich outline given to them. The assignment is
due on Wednesday, February 29th. They are to choose an author that they love…
There was a note that was in last week’s Friday Folder dealing with our
end of year field trip to Boston. Please be sure that you read and respond by
Monday. Thank you.
Just a quick note on Valentine’s Day that will be coming soon; we will
not have a class party but the students may exchange Valentines. I just ask that
if you are going to send in Valentines that you must give each child in the class one.
Thank you. A class list was attached to last week’s newsletter.
Again I want to let you know that you may
contact me anytime via email at jleak@nycap.rr.com, our class website, which is posted on the St. Clement’s website page. Just
go to Classroom Pages and click on my name. I am also available by telephone. If it is during the day please contact the school at 584-7350 and leave a message. I will contact you at my earliest available time.
