Mrs. Leak’s Weekly Newsletter
Volume 1 Week 20 January 27, 2012
The second marking period has come to a close. Report cards are going home on February 10th. If there are any questions or concerns after you receive your child’s report card, please feel free
to contact me so that we may discuss the matter. The third marking period always
seems short and there are less grades than in marking period 1 and 2 ( due to school recess) so every grade counts.
Please continue to work with your child on studying. They are always given at least a week’s notice and they should be studying every
night. There is too much information for them to go over in just one evening. Thank you for your understanding.
Our class story “Coming Home” is really
progressing very nicely. Each student has really gotten into the story. We will continue to move through this so that it will be completed by February.
Snow has come and I am asking that the students
bring in their snowpants, boots, hats and gloves every single day. We go outside
everyday, the students need the fresh air and exercise. If you would like your
child to leave their snow pants and boots here, that is fine with me. They should
go home every Friday to be washed. Thank you
for your prompt attention to this matter.
Please note the next long term assignment is the
January book report that is to be completed using a cereal box. The assignment
is due on Friday, February 3rd.
There is a note that is in the Friday Folder dealing
with our end of year field trip to Boston. Please be sure that you read and respond. Thank you.
Just a quick note on Valentine’s Day that
will be coming soon; we will not have a class party but the students may exchange Valentines.
I just ask that if you are going to send in Valentines that you must give each child in the class one. Thank you. A class list is attached to this newsletter.
Again I want to
let you know that you may contact me anytime via email at jleak@nycap.rr.com, our class website, which is posted on the St. Clement’s website page. Just go to Classroom Pages and click on my name. I am also
available by telephone. If it is during the day please contact the school at
584-7350 and leave a message. I will contact you at my earliest available time.
